About Liberation Aloud

At Liberation Aloud, we believe in the power of voices. Voices that have been silenced, marginalized, and ignored. We are a platform where individuals impacted by the justice system—both currently and formerly incarcerated—can reclaim their narratives, express their truths, and demand the dignity and liberation they deserve.

Our name embodies our mission: Liberation Aloud. It's a play on words about not just speaking up; but also being allowed to exist fully as human beings, with all the rights and respect that entails. We are an emergence of hope in a system that for too long has dehumanized and discarded those within it.

Through poetry, podcasting, art, storytelling, debate, and more, we provide a space for expression, healing, and empowerment. Our platform amplifies the voices and talents of those who have been cast aside by the US injustice system, allowing the world to witness their resilience, creativity, and potential.

Our vision for a future rooted in restorative justice encompasses all facets of the justice system, fostering empathy, accountability, and transformation. All those harmed by the current punitive system, including those who are victims and survivors of crime, deserve better than what we’ve been offered. Together, we strive to dismantle the barriers that divide us and build a society founded on compassion, healing, and restoration for all. Creating generations of real safety and community.
